Wearable Erection-Tracking Devices
FirmTech Tech Ring and the quantified-erection market
Evidence grade 2 of 5, Thin. Read how the Atlas grades evidence.
The written rationale for this grade is still being prepared.
- FDA
- FDA-registered wearable device; not an FDA-approved diagnostic or ED treatment
Reference only. Not medical advice.
What can go wrong
As a worn constriction ring the physical risks mirror other rings (avoid over-tight, prolonged constriction; remove at any pain, numbness, or color change). The larger caveat is interpretive: FirmTech's 'Erectile Fitness Score' and health-signal claims are company framing, not validated clinical diagnostics, and self-collected consumer data can be misread. It supplements, but does not replace, medical evaluation, and privacy of intimate health data is a consideration.
This is something to take to a clinician. The Atlas can tell you what is known about wearable erection-tracking devices in general. It cannot tell you what is happening in your body, and the difference matters most for exactly the symptoms that bring people to this page.
A new class of 'smart' sexual-health wearables aims to quantify erectile function the way fitness trackers quantify sleep or heart rate. The leading example is the FirmTech Tech Ring, a sensor-equipped constriction ring that FirmTech markets as tracking the firmness, duration, and nocturnal frequency of erections and syncing to an app that generates an 'Erectile Fitness Score.' FirmTech frames these metrics as indicators of cardiovascular and sexual health that can be shared with a clinician over time.
The wearable that turns erections into data.
What people take it for
These are the reasons people give for taking it. They are not effects it has been shown to have.
How it is supposed to work
Integrated sensors in the ring measure changes associated with erections, firmness proxies, duration, and how often erections occur overnight, and transmit the data via Bluetooth to an app. FirmTech markets nocturnal erection frequency and firmness as signals of vascular and sexual health, offering a longitudinal, at-home analogue to formal nocturnal penile tumescence testing.
What people get wrong
Often saidAn erection-tracking ring diagnoses your heart disease
ActuallyFirmness and nocturnal erections are broadly linked to vascular health, but a consumer wearable's score is not a validated diagnostic; abnormal readings warrant a real clinical workup, not self-diagnosis.
Who profits, and who pushes back
Nobody is named here yet, because we have not done that work on this entry. Read that as unfinished. Somebody almost certainly sells this, and somebody almost certainly disputes it. Assume both until we have checked.
Legal status
Purchased over the counter / online. FDA-registered as a device but not cleared as a diagnostic instrument, so its outputs are wellness metrics rather than clinical results.
Status current as of July 2026. Regulatory positions change, sometimes quickly.
The market for this
What follows describes how this is bought and sold. It is not a buying guide and it is not an endorsement of any seller.
Premium consumer device priced above basic constriction rings; sold as a one-time purchase with an accompanying app.
