BioPerine (Piperine)
Sabinsa, black-pepper bioavailability enhancer
Evidence grade 3 of 5, Mixed. Read how the Atlas grades evidence.
The written rationale for this grade is still being prepared.

What can go wrong
Piperine inhibits CYP3A4 and P-glycoprotein, so it can increase blood levels of various prescription medications, a real interaction concern for anyone on chronic medication.
This is something to take to a clinician. The Atlas can tell you what is known about bioperine (piperine) in general. It cannot tell you what is happening in your body, and the difference matters most for exactly the symptoms that bring people to this page.
BioPerine is a Sabinsa-branded black-pepper extract standardized to ~95% piperine, added at ~5 mg to improve the absorption of co-ingested compounds (piperine inhibits certain metabolizing enzymes and transporters). It appears in almost every testosterone formula. It does not raise testosterone itself; its role is to enhance bioavailability, and, via CYP3A4/P-gp inhibition, it can also raise blood levels of prescription drugs, a genuine interaction concern.
Not a T-booster, a 5 mg absorption enhancer in nearly every stack.
What people take it for
These are the reasons people give for taking it. They are not effects it has been shown to have.
What people get wrong
Often saidBioPerine boosts testosterone
ActuallyIt is an absorption enhancer, not a hormonal ingredient. Its main clinical relevance is that it can raise the levels of co-administered drugs.
Who profits, and who pushes back
Nobody is named here yet, because we have not done that work on this entry. Read that as unfinished. Somebody almost certainly sells this, and somebody almost certainly disputes it. Assume both until we have checked.
