What can go wrong
The fadogia recommendation outran the evidence: fadogia has zero human trials and animal testicular-toxicity signals, Huberman does advise blood testing. His supplement advice sits inside paid commercial relationships.
This is something to take to a clinician. The Atlas can tell you what is known about andrew huberman's testosterone protocol in general. It cannot tell you what is happening in your body, and the difference matters most for exactly the symptoms that bring people to this page.
Andrew Huberman, a Stanford neuroscientist and host of the Huberman Lab podcast, did more than anyone to popularize natural testosterone optimization. His framing is foundations-first: sleep, morning sunlight, heavy compound resistance training (he cites ~6 sets of 10, ~120s rest, sessions under an hour to limit cortisol), then supplements. His best-known supplement advice, Tongkat Ali ~400 mg/day and Fadogia Agrestis ~600 mg/day (cycled), drove enormous consumer demand. He reported his own testosterone rose from ~600 to ~800 ng/dL on the stack and urges bloodwork before and after.
The most influential natural-T protocol of the 2020s, and its commercial ties.
What people take it for
These are the reasons people give for taking it. They are not effects it has been shown to have.
What people get wrong
Often saidHuberman is an unbiased Stanford scientist
ActuallyHis behavioral advice (sleep, sunlight, training) carries no product incentive, but the supplements he popularized are sold by Momentous, with whom he had a paid multi-year partnership and advisory seat, and he endorses (and reportedly holds equity in) AG1. The testosterone-relevant recommendations are financially incentivized.
Who profits, and who pushes back
Examine.com / evidence base
Tongkat ali has modest RCT support; fadogia agrestis has zero human trials and animal toxicity, the gap between promotion and evidence is among the largest in the category.
Andrew Huberman
Sells this. Has a commercial interest in a product sold as this compound, as of July 2026.
Paid Momentous advisor/partner (announced 2022, reported expired); AG1 advisor + sponsor + reported equity holder. Behavioral advice is unincentivized; the supplement stack is not arm's-length.
